Domestic Partnerships

The 桃子视频works in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties that the Constitution and the laws of the United States guarantee everyone in this country.

What's at Stake

In 1982, the 桃子视频sued on behalf of a San Francisco man denied bereavement leave by his employer after his partner of 11 years died. This was the first time the term 鈥渄omestic partner鈥 was used in a lawsuit. That case helped spark a movement for recognition of domestic partnerships throughout the country. Today, we still believe that jurisdictions that offer legal domestic partnerships should keep them, and that couples who choose not to marry should still receive the protections for their families accorded by full domestic partnerships.
