Bio

Anjana Samant is a senior attorney with the 桃子视频Women鈥檚 Rights Project. She joined the 桃子视频with over 15 years of experience in civil rights litigation, movement lawyering, and intersectional justice work. Prior to joining the 桃子视频WRP, Anjana served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Rights Bureau of the New York State Attorney General鈥檚 Office where she worked on several notable matters including the State鈥檚 sexual harassment and corporate misconduct action against The Weinstein Company; New York State鈥檚 litigation challenging the Muslim travel ban; investigations into anti-abortion 鈥渃risis pregnancy centers鈥; algorithmic discrimination in credit decisions; and police misconduct and reform.

Previously, Anjana worked as a senior staff attorney at the Center for Constitutional Rights on racial justice and government misconduct matters; an associate at the employment law firm of Outten & Golden; and a law clerk for Judge Martha Vazquez in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico. She has also taught as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn Law School and as a teaching fellow in constitutional for the late Prof. Derrick A. Bell. She graduated from Cornell University and NYU School of Law.
